Old age finally caught up to me and Dr. Canon told me I needed an eyebrow lift. He recommended Christina Choe and because I have absolute trust in his judgment, I made an appointment with her. During the initial consultation, Dr. Choe took the time to lay out the treatment options along with the pros and cons for each one. I felt empowered to make the choice that was best for me and I definitely felt like a team member rather than just a patient. Her quiet confidence was reassuring and justified. I am happy to say there were no surprises with the procedure or results. Dr. Choe always told me what was going to happen next and what to expect. Even though she has done this a thousand times, she was incredibly patient and made sure there was good communication between us. On the day of the procedure, it felt like a good friend was personally seeing to it that everything went as well as possible. She provided thorough post operative instructions and reviewed them before saying goodbye. She also called the next day to make sure everything was going well and to see if I had any questions.

Dr. Choe always made sure that I was as comfortable as possible during the procedure. An example was the use of a small vibrator on my forehead to distract me from the numbing needle injections. It was very effective. In hindsight, the most impressive thing she did to keep my mind off of the procedure was to ask questions to keep me talking. It is difficult for me to verbally assemble two coherent phrases and I am not a competent conversationalist. Dr. Choe made me forget that by asking leading questions and then following up with responses and more questions based on my replies. She made me feel interesting and it was only later that I realized she was an expert at distracting me using this technique. Silence might have encouraged me to concentrate on what her skilled hands were doing which could have been a problem. A side benefit was my temporarily feeling like a normal communicator. I have to say that my whole experience exceeded my expectations. I believe Dr. Choe is a consummate professional and I highly recommend her. I believe her empathy for what it feels like to be a patient comes naturally to her. I wonder if her conversational skill came naturally or she made the effort to develop it for this purpose. I’m sure she could tell a hundred interesting stories.
